We are pleased that you have stopped by to view the next CopBlue video article. They are published regularly and address a variety of issues which are important to American Street Cops.

This week, Danny Watson mixes it up with the second candidate for the job of sheriff in Darlington County, South Carolina:   Seasoned cop, James Hudson.

Hudson has done almost everything a cop can do in a long career. He has done it well. Now, he judges it is time for him to lead.

This is an engaging conversation because James has been a successful Black cop in a Southern state. He has a perspective that many white cops will never have. His ability to articulate his vision which allows the viewer to understand it in an entirely new light.

Refreshing, to say the least.

Dan told me that he has done these two videos with the two candidates to drive this point:  It is critical to our wellbeing as cops, to ask questions of would-be leaders BEFORE they get the job.

That should help reduce the number of cops who complain about poor leadership AFTER the new guy gets the job.

Just a thought.

“Above all, it’s about going home at the end of the shift … “

We couldn’t agree more.
