We are pleased that you have stopped by to view the next CopBlue video article. They are published regularly and address a variety of issues which are important to American Street Cops.

This week, Dan is able to corale the President of the South Carolina State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, Terry Gainey.  Terry spent many years working the street before moving up the chain of command. He is fortunate to understand what we (America’s Street Cops) are facing based on his own experience while now having the broader view brought on by his leadership role.

Terry makes it his personal job to help and support the Street Cops of South Carolina. Listening to these two old guys talk was very …….    well, you ought to take a few minutes and watch what is going on here. These are some of the issues they talked about:

  • The failure of police leadership. These days, it SUCKS!
  • The ever changing rules for promotion that always seem to change so the chief can promote his favorite guy.
  • The increased stress of today’s cop job.
  • Guys who depart with PTSD issues are losing a lot more than a job. They lose their identity, they lose their close connection with other cops and they often get bored because they are no longer, ‘in the game.’ Where can they turn for help.

You can watch Dan and Terry tell stories and lie to one another. It’s about the most fun you can have – with your clothes on. Come on, check it out:

“Above all, it’s about going home at the end of the shift … “

We couldn’t agree more.
