This article follows Part I which can be read at this link: PART ONE
Historical events don’t usually happen in solitary confinement. At the beginning of the 21st century, America was consumed with tragedy on our shores bigger than anyone could have comprehended:
The attacks of September 11, 2001.
When families are struck down in such a manner, the crisis tends to consume our full attention. Think of the death of an immediate family member, diagnosis of a terminal disease (like cancer) or serious car wreck with grievous bodily injuries.
Everything else stops.
Following 9/11, the whole country became focused on the external threats. Flags were prominently displayed just about everywhere. Patriotism peaked throughout the land.
It took a few years before the Failed Poor and their advocates regained their voices in the public square.
Around 2006, folks were sensing the country had changed. However, they were uncertain how and where the changes came from. From my perspective, there were a few notable elements.
The political leaders of the Failed Poor had solidified a voting bloc of people. They could be described as individuals who were receiving regular support payments from the government. Joining this group of politicians were also those who claimed a “conservative” label; in reality, they were anything but. (Sounds like a mixture of oil & water, to me.)
Together, these politicians became the country’s “Ruling Elites” who lived in the D.C. bubble with little/no contact with us average guys. They were calling the shots.
Surrounding them was a tight circle of ‘hangers-on’: the media, the wealthy and the Hollywood crowd. They wallowed in their power. (Picture pigs wallowing in mud.)
The power was intoxicating.
There was no power-sharing with this crowd. They did their level best to get rid of other of life’s authority figures – like God. They wanted Him out of our lives so we could focus on them. After all, it stroked their collective ego.
2008 BROUGHT A NEW DAY IN THE ‘HOOD
Our new President announced in Chicago only moments after the election said that he would bring “fundamental change” to America. None of us street cops could have imagined.
The Failed Poor were told they deserved the trappings of wealth – like a government supplied cell phone, video games and cable TV.
The concept of a nation with equal opportunity for all was abandoned.
The new belief was that everyone deserved an equal outcome, regardless of if (or how hard) they worked to earn it.
The long held belief in personal responsibility for one’s actions was now passé.
America had a President who was the first Black Man to hold the office. He had an uncertain (if not muddied) background steeped in socialism – and he hung out with those who professed it.
Statistically this was clear: his success was owed to Black voters who had little/no concern with his stance on any issue nor his plans for the country.
Joining with him were the Progressives who put their desire to vote for the FIRST Black presidential candidate above their concerns with the ideology that would accompany him. It was the ultimate display of their commitment to Liberal causes.
IMAGINE how the Framer’s would have reacted to our new President’s vision for America.
The Ruling Elites remained, with a slightly altered vision of the future. However, their most important concern was met: THEY RETAINED THEIR POLITICAL POWER.
Within moments of inauguration, our new President called out the Cambridge street cops. A sergeant arrested a suspicious person who was alleged to be breaking into a home. The suspect refused to identify himself to the officer.
Before an investigation, the President announced to the nation that the Cambridge Police had acted, “stupidly.”
This did not bode well for the next eight years for the Thin Blue Line.
This administration brought with it a storm of accusations and dispersions from the White House and the Attorney General focused on cop-shops across the country.
Sixteen of them, to be specific.
To many of the Failed Poor, the accusation alone was the same as a conviction of guilt. Understood.
This new administration went so far as creating new terms to damage the reputation and image of cops everywhere.
How about: IMPLICIT BIAS?
Better yet: UNCONSCIOUS BIAS.
SENDING A SYMPATHY CARD
In August, 2014 a thug well known to the Ferguson, MO cops encountered Officer Darren Wilson. The thug fought with, tried to disarm and then kill the officer.
Fanned on by their leaders, the Failed Poor was outraged as they followed a lie which would rank as one of the biggest whoppers of all time, “Hands UP, Don’t Shoot.” BULLSHIT.
The Ruling Elite seized the moment: investigate the officer for civil rights violations, investigate the cop shop for Implicit Bias and send the three-piece suits from the DOJ to mourn the loss of the local thug.
Now THAT’S the kind of support every member of law enforcement or the military wants from their Commander-in-Chief when the chips are down, isn’t it?
AT LEAST THEY WERE CONSISTENT
The killing of every black man by a white officer became an opportunity to investigate another cop shop and street cop for discrimination and racism.
However, the killing of any cop – regardless of the color of the perpetrator – was an opportunity to look the other way.
It had been a twenty-year practice for the President to address the families and coworkers of fallen cops each year on May 15th at the Capitol. He would thank them and console them.
This President, however, didn’t seem to be able to clear his schedule for the one-mile trip down Pennsylvania Ave.
YOU can draw your own conclusions.
Somehow, the Black-on-Black murder rate never registered for this President. In one city alone (Chicago), during his term of office there were 4,462 murders; over 90% of the victims were Black.
Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
However, if the case of a Black thug in Baltimore, the street cops have been put through three separate inquisitions. The prosecutor started trying the six cops until the Judge humiliated her and threw her out of court. Of course there was the customary (by now) DOJ investigation and most currently, their own agency is trying to fry their butts.
It’s a great day to be a cop, right?
I HAVE BEEN DOWN THIS PATH BEFORE
Every street cop comes to know who the ‘frequent flyers’ are in their town, their district or their neighborhoods. There have been multiple arrests, traffic warrants, occasional resisting and is a guy who has a permanent chip on his shoulder.
Imagine: You are about to make a traffic stop and realize said ‘frequent flyer’ is the driver.
The hair is up on the back of your neck. You call for backup first. You make a passenger side approach. Your hand is either on your weapon or it’s already out of the holster and behind your leg.
The Ruling Elites would loudly cry that you are exhibiting the traits of someone with UNCONSCIOUS BIAS.
In REALITY, you’re exhibiting the traits of a seasoned street cop who wants to go home to their family at the end of your shift.
These are lessons best learned in REAL LIFE rather than from a Power Point presentation in a classroom.
RECOGNIZE A NEW COALITION OF LEADERS
This new group will now champion the cause of all the Failed Poor and be especially vocal on behalf of Failed Blacks. Their membership includes:
- Politicians using the cause to get votes.
- Globalists, socialists, wealth redistributors and others clinging to their belief in EQUAL OUTCOMES for all.
- The media. After all, “If it Bleeds, it Leads.”
- Hollywood types: they love being on center stage while our focus is elsewhere. It feeds their massive ego. Just ask Harvey Weinstein.
GRANDMA IS TOUGH TO BEAT
For those of us who have kids or grandkids, pause for a moment and think about why the kids like to be with Grandma. Grandma is fun. She gives them cookies. She lets them get away with stuff their parents won’t. She doesn’t make them do chores as their parents do.
How could a kid go wrong?
There is a problem with a life like that (if you’re an adult).
In the adult world that’s how many folks view socialism or wealth re-distribution. As quoted from Margaret Thatcher, “Sooner or later, you run out of other peoples’ money.” Amen.
PEOPLE ARE ANGRY
Government debt is at $20 trillion and the Failed Poor need even more money from the Treasury.
Big corporations have gone where taxes are lower. (Burger King is now based in Canada.) Others have kept trillions of bucks parked overseas to avoid the U.S. taxes.
Very rich Americans have left and renounced their citizenship to avoid the taxes.
Then the ruling elites come up with this: “There is a high percentage of people in prison who are Black. That is proof of institutional racial bias and discrimination by law enforcement.”
What the Hell are these people thinking?
Anything to get the spotlight off of their own failures, I guess.
Even if it puts the lives of street cops in the crosshairs of every thug armed with a gun.
Back in the middle of 2016, if you were paying attention, you could feel the rumble of the train on the tracks headed our way.
AMERICANS SMELLED THE COFFEE
November 8, 2016 was the official end of the rein of the Ruling Elites. And, they have been screaming like stuck pigs, ever since.
New national leadership was installed by the Americans in “flyover” country. The silent majority. To some, the stupid. To others, the dummies who, “cling to their Bibles and their guns.” Amen.
At the time of their demise, the deposed leaders of the Failed Poor made it official:
- Scrutinize everything cops do with body cams and cell phone video.
- Know that Cops are prone to lying.
- Believe that Cops are aggressive and they hate Black people.
- Black people should be encouraged to provoke street cops into acting badly and then pouncing on encounters:
- Traffic stops
- Other contacts
- Any use of force
- Cops are social outcasts and they are our collective enemies.
This was a recipe for disaster. We hear about daily occurrences of cops being assaulted and killed.
I remember reading my computer on the morning of July 8, 2016 when I learned that TWELVE of my brothers had been shot in Dallas. Five of them were dead.
I recall reading that three of my brothers were killed in Baton Rouge on July 16, 2016.
Of course, there was the assassination of two NYPD cops as they sat in their patrol car.
These incidents make our collective blood boil.
Was there a DOJ investigation of these incidents? Nope.
Were there any demonstrations expressing the public anger over the loss of these street cops? Nope.
And there is no justifiable reason to feel anger?
THE SECOND AMERICAN REVOLUTION
As we lived through last couple of years, the groundswell of anger coming from “average Americans” was palpable.
More than once I remarked that, “America will soon have another revolution. It will either be at the ballot box in November or it will be on the battle field shortly thereafter.”
I’m glad it was peaceful.
But, be certain: those who lost will not give up easily.
The battle continues.
At the bottom line, it’s all about saving just ONE life.
